Wired - Disappear Discuss (0 Comments) Two New Puzzle Contests Thursday 21st of January 2010 USA is giving away a Ford Taurus in the Chasing the Shadow game. Step into the world of the TV show White Collar and solve weekly challenges involving observation, code breaking, and other detective skills. So far this contest is highly entertaining and relates nicely to the show in a way that is similar to the past Burn Notice Covert Ops games. TNT brought back the Leverage HQ game for the third year. This year prizes are much smaller and the games are more like arcade games, but it is still enjoyable. $1000 electronics prizes are given away each week to the top game scorer and to a randomly selected entrant. Search the ResortQuest Ski Destination websites for a treasure map. When you find it you will get a number to call and the secret code to claim the treasure. The first to call wins the prize. Each week there will be a new prize and a new hunt until March 30th. The prizes are 5 night stays at ResortQuest properties for only $1 per night. Locations include Aspen, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City, Steamboat or Sun Valley. Airfare is not included. Discuss (1 Comment) Puzzle Contest Winners Friday 11th of December 2009 A number of puzzle based contests wrapped up in the last few months, and we congratulate the winners: Congratulations to Laura Hall on winning the $100,000 grand prize in Levi's Go Forth contest. She cracked the final code and then went on a treasure hunt to find the prize. You can read about her experiences here. Congratulations to the MIT team on winning the Darpa Network Challenge. Darpa floated 10 red balloons across the country for just a few hours and challenged players to create a social network to locate all 10 balloons. MIT used a pyramid payout plan to share the $40,000 prize money with people successfully finding balloons. Congratulations to Michael S for winning the Leader of the Post-2012 World Election contest. The 12 top scorers in the puzzle contest then entered campaign videos in a voting contest for the movie 2012. Michael S received the most votes to win the trip to Cancun. Congratulations to Beth Gleason of Illinois and Jeanette Underwood of Georgia for winning Volvo XC60's in the Twilight themed What Drives Edward contest. The winners had to be the first two people to solve online puzzles that related to the New Moon movie. Volvo only planned to award a car to the winner, but in a surprise move they gave a car to the second place player as well.
